Yesterday, social game developer Zynga published its game FarmVille in the Apple App Store. FarmVille is a highly popular game on Facebook, with over 75 million users worldwide across social networks, according the company.

The game is free to download and Zynga offers a selection of in-app purchases within the application, enabling users to purchase additional “Farm Cash” or “Coins” while playing. After one day in the Apple App Store, the most popular in-app purchases range between $4.99 and $49.99:

Currently the game is among the 10 most popular free iPhone apps in 47 of the 90 Apple App Store countries. These countries include the US, UK and many other European countries. Due to the in-app purchases, the game is also entering the top overall grossing listings in several countries.
In the near future Zynga will be rolling out additional in-game features for the iPhone 4 and iOS 4, including multi-tasking functionality and enhanced graphics for the retina display.

OMFG. The end is nigh.
Very poor ratings though – downloads are not a good indication of attention or time spent.
