Microsoft opened Windows Marketplace for developers to submit their applications. Developers that want to have their applications in the store when it goes live at the end of this year can learn more here.

Microsoft is now accepting application submissions for the Marketplace in all 29 countries, on a first-in-first-out bases. According their announcement, it will take 10 business days to get an application certified.

Marketplace will go live together with Windows Mobile 6.5, but will also support current WM 6.0 and 6.1 phones in the market. Microsoft states this brings the total reach of the store to 30 million consumers worldwide.
