Blackberry App World in Europe this month

July 8th, 2009 by Vincent Hoogsteder

There were already some signs indicating that Blackberry App World would be launched in Europe soon. The app store is currently only available in the US, UK and Canada. It is now confirmed by Research In Motion that App World will be available in France, Germany, Italy and Spain this month. This means that Blackberry users in these countries with one of theĀ supported models, can get App World and start downloading & purchasing applications.

Additonally they announced that heavy mobile countries Brazil & India are next on the list to get access to App World.

Right now, there are around 2.000 applications available in App World. With the store hitting Europe soon, the consumer audience for developers is also getting a lot larger. This could help getting more developers, especially from Europe, to submit their applications to App World.
