Sony Ericsson announced its mobile app store: PlayNow arena. The PlayNow portal has been available for a longer period, offering music, games, ringtones, wallpapers and themes. Now it will also offering applications.
What will be in there?
Both paid and free applications will be available. Content will be delivered by Getjar , supporting J2ME and Symbian. Developers can start submitting their applications from July 1st on submit.sonyericsson.com.
Phone & country support
Applications will be offered in the 13 countries that currently support PlayNow arena. The service platform, which is compatible with 38 Sony Ericsson phone models, will roll out to further markets and models over the year.
Billing
Right now credit card and premium SMS billing are available in PlayNow.
Aapplications in PlayNow arena will be made available for consumers later this year. The exact date is yet undisclosed however. We added PlayNow arena to our mobile app store overview.
