This week’s most downloaded apps on Getjar – IM going strong

At Distimo we track all major app stores. The largest store for Java and Symbian is Getjar.

These are the 10 most downloaded apps on Getjar this week:

1. eBuddy (357,102 downloads)
2. Nimbuzz (386,682)
3. Opera Mini (259,385)
4. Mig33 (171,088)
5. Google Maps (161,148)
6. Facebook (110,696)
7. Super Bluetooth hack (99,683)
8. Yamee (86,390)
9. Qeep (70,985)
10. Glassplayer (76,337)

In this top 10, there are 4 instant messaging apps; eBuddy, Nimbuzz, Mig33 and Yamee. These IM apps get over 1M weekly downloads on Getjar, more than 50% of the whole top 10 downloads.

IM is definitely hot on Getjar.

   Remco do you know why the ranking is not based on the number of the downloads? Nimbuzz has more downloads then eBuddy this week and Glassplayer more then Qeep..

   Looking at the numbers this should be the actual order… or am I missing something?

   Hi Pufan and Jelle,

   This is the correct ranking according to GetJar. They take more into account than only the raw download numbers.
